Meet Our Founder
Kathleen London has brought a taste of the UK to the Main Streets of Michigan — building upon years of retail industry experience to open London Beauty, a cheeky beauty space that allows customers to express and embrace their individuality through independently owned, cruelty-free makeup and skincare products.
Originally from Hudson, Ohio, Kathleen was born with big dreams and an innate love for beauty and fashion. She entered the world of high-end, luxury retail after moving to New York as a young adult, working as an executive in fashion and luxury retail. A few years in, Kathleen found herself uttering the phrase ‘I’d rather be selling lipstick’.
Kathleen soon realized that her true passion was for beauty — and for people. Throughout her career, she watched women, and herself, struggle with beauty and the intense pressure to look a certain way. She dreamed of creating a space for customers to explore beauty without those expectations, and with better choices.
From there, Kathleen found herself driving on the Main Street of Brighton, Michigan — where she discovered a tiny little gem with a ‘for rent’ sign. That gem would become the first London Beauty location — a posh, UK-inspired storefront that encapsulates everything Kathleen loves about beauty and retail.
