Colgan Art

Kenneth Colgan was an artist in Oklahoma who not only created fine art but worked as a newspaper artist for the Daily Oklahoman. Before the advent of photography in Newpapers, artists were hired to depict current events and celebrities.

Ken’s fine art was mostly watercolor with some mixed media and woodblock pieces. As was popular during the early part of the 1900s into the 1960s, his style was indicative of the Modern or Mid Century Modern palette of neutrals and earthen colors. The pieces we have found are mostly local to his area. However for us, harken back to charming small town, Midwestern life as will many of the pieces around London Beauty. We will continue to share our found pieces with you.
